WPC Walls for Oman Boutique Hotels: Material Schedule
A boutique hospitality project can use several similar timber-look finishes in a small number of rooms. For an Oman buyer, the challenge is keeping the intended WPC profile, colour and junction details consistent across the reception, guest areas and service spaces. A material schedule should make these distinctions visible before purchase. It should not group every warm brown panel under one decorative description and leave the installer to interpret the design.

Create a location-based material register linking each wall to a verified product reference, finish sample and detail. Use it to coordinate quantities and exclusions, while keeping different exposure conditions and required approvals separate.
Break the project into real locations
List the walls by room or zone and describe their intended use. Reception, guest corridors and service spaces may have different operational demands even within the same Oman property. Mark areas near entrances, cleaning activities or other possible exposure separately rather than assuming one panel is suitable everywhere. The schedule should identify the designer responsible for confirming the proposed use. If the project includes exterior areas, do not extend an interior WPC selection to them without specific product information. Keep any unconfirmed location visibly pending instead of hiding it within a total wall area.
Link appearance to a precise product reference
Record the selected profile, finish code and accepted sample reference for each location. Similar colours can belong to different constructions or dimensions, and a photograph alone may not distinguish them. Include the available technical information without inventing missing values. Ask the supplier to confirm the relationship between the sample and the current offer. If two spaces intentionally use different profiles in the same colour family, keep separate item references. This prevents a purchasing shortcut from replacing the intended design with whichever similar-looking panel happens to be listed first in a quotation.
Coordinate junctions and accessory quantities
Add the relevant corner, base, top and opening details to each material item. The measured wall area does not automatically determine the trim quantity or the cutting yield. Review the layout and panel orientation with the installer, especially where a feature continues around a return or stops beside another finish. Separate accessories supplied by the panel supplier from items provided by the contractor. Safe handling guidance such as the HSE reference is background for planning material movement, not a specification for the decorative system. The actual installation detail must be based on the selected product and project conditions.
Use the schedule through handover
Update the register when a substitution or layout revision is accepted, and archive the previous version. Use the same item references on purchase orders, delivery checks and installation records so the site team can identify the intended destination of each carton. At handover, add the installed product references and care information rather than leaving the original design proposal unchanged. Record spare material locations and any unresolved differences honestly. A reliable schedule helps future maintenance and refurbishment decisions, but it does not guarantee that an identical finish will remain available or that every replacement will be visually indistinguishable.
Before you request a quotation
- Separate locations with different uses or exposure.
- Link each item to an accepted sample and exact profile.
- Include junction details and accessory responsibilities.
- Update the register to show the material actually installed.
Frequently asked questions
Can all timber-look walls be combined into one item?
Only if they genuinely share the same approved product and scope; otherwise separate them.
Does a material schedule replace installation drawings?
No. It should link to the relevant details and current drawing revisions.
