PVC wall panels in Brazil: prepare product data before selling online
A Brazilian distributor can receive an attractive PVC wall-panel sample and still lack the information needed for an accurate online listing. A customer may read a price as the cost of one square metre when the seller means one panel. Another may expect trims that were only shown in a room illustration. Before promoting an imported range, connect the listing to the exact product and selling unit.

Create one controlled product record for each sellable reference. Separate panel dimensions, usable installed coverage and carton quantities; confirm what the price includes. Use Portuguese buyer-facing explanations backed by current supplier documents. Do not turn a catalog photograph or a generic material description into an unsupported performance promise.
Define the unit the Brazilian customer is actually buying
Record whether the listing sells a panel, carton or another agreed unit. Keep panel length, overall width and effective installed width in separate fields where relevant. Ask the supplier how the selected profile joins before calculating coverage. A nominal rectangle is not automatically its usable coverage after joining or cutting. If a carton is the sales unit, show the confirmed pieces per carton and explain whether accessories are separate. Never copy dimensions from a visually similar model. Ask a colleague to interpret the listing without seeing the supplier quotation: if the two people calculate different quantities, the listing needs clearer units.
Build a Portuguese data sheet from traceable information
Connect the supplier reference to your own stock code, finish name and current source document. Preserve numbers and units during translation, then check them against the original record. Explain intended application and installation limitations in understandable Portuguese rather than translating promotional adjectives. Where evidence is missing, request it or omit the claim. GS1 describes product-data quality as including physical validation of product attributes. That is useful general data-management guidance, not proof that a particular panel meets Brazilian requirements. Your importer and relevant advisers must separately check applicable local obligations.
Keep images and included components consistent
Prepare a main image that identifies the actual selected finish, and a detail image where the joining profile can be inspected. Obtain permission for supplier photographs. A room illustration can explain a design idea, but it should not imply a documented installation or the exact colour a buyer will receive. Identify separately sold trims, adhesives or fixings instead of letting a styled picture define the package. Link the listing to the appropriate catalog while making clear that the PDF may include several models. If you rename a finish locally, keep its original reference available for sample and order checks.
Review the listing when the supplied reference changes
Assign a person to approve changes to dimensions, packing, images and application wording. Compare a new supplier revision with the published listing before continuing to take orders under the old description. Keep a dated copy of the approved record and communicate relevant changes to the sales team. Do not silently replace an ordered model with the nearest-looking image. A simple change log is more useful than several conflicting spreadsheets. For a Brazilian channel launch, test the product page, downloadable specification and quotation together: the selling unit and included items should agree across all three.
Before you request a quotation
- Selected supplier reference linked to your Brazilian stock code.
- Confirmed selling unit, dimensions, effective coverage and package contents.
- Reviewed Portuguese descriptions and permitted, model-matched imagery.
- Named record owner and a process for updating changed specifications.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use catalog dimensions for every similar-looking finish?
No. Confirm that the catalog data applies to the exact reference and current supply version. Similar appearance does not establish identical dimensions or packing.
Should an online price include installation accessories?
State the actual commercial offer. If accessories are sold separately, make that visible and help the buyer identify the compatible items rather than implying they are included.
