PVC wall panels for Colombian distributors: build a manageable first assortment
A first wholesale order does not need to reproduce an entire catalogue. For a Colombian distributor, too many similar PVC finishes can divide a limited stock budget while leaving the correct trim unavailable. Start with the customers you can serve and the installation systems you can explain. This guide offers a decision process, not a claim about Colombia’s bestselling colours or a promise of sales.

Choose a limited, clearly identified range against actual enquiries. Build complete panel-and-trim combinations, distinguish display samples from saleable stock, and set a review rule before adding more variants.
Start with evidence from your own sales conversations
List the projects requested by customers in your service area: room type, intended wall or ceiling use, preferred appearance, quantity and timing. Separate a confirmed project from a general price enquiry. A Bogotá showroom and a distributor serving other Colombian cities may have different customers; neither should treat a national search result as proof of local demand. Record questions that stop a sale, such as missing installation information or an unavailable end trim, rather than recording colour preference alone.
Give each sellable combination an unambiguous identity
Record profile, finish, length and packaging unit under a consistent internal stock code. Keep the supplier’s reference alongside it so sales staff do not order by a photograph or an informal name such as light oak. GS1 guidance treats size and colour variations as distinct identification considerations when using its GTIN system; it does not require you to invent barcodes or imply that Luvie has assigned them. Confirm any barcode requirement with the relevant trading partner. Keep samples and quotations tied to the same item record.
Check the whole system before increasing colour choice
For each selected panel, confirm the compatible ends, corners and transitions required by the intended applications. Ask which accessories are available and which need separate sourcing; do not assume a visually similar trim fits. Separate demonstration material from customer stock and retain a reference sample. Request current packing quantities and commercial terms directly from the supplier. If a minimum order or carton increment would create excess inventory, review the assortment before agreeing the order rather than promising to sell the surplus later.
Set a review rule that can change the next order
Track enquiries, quotations, orders, returns and remaining stock by item. Record why a quotation did not convert without assuming price was the cause. After an agreed review period, consider whether a finish should remain sample-only, receive replenishment or be removed from the next purchase. Reconfirm availability and current replenishment terms instead of assuming they match the first shipment. Preserve the approved sample and product reference when reordering, because a similar name alone does not guarantee the same finish.

Frequently asked questions
How many colours should a first order contain?
There is no universal number. Use your budget, confirmed enquiries, accessory coverage and supplier terms to choose a manageable range.
Can online popularity replace local sales records?
No. It can suggest questions to investigate, but it does not demonstrate demand from your customers.
