SPC flooring in Uzbekistan: underfloor heating approval
An SPC sample can establish colour and texture, but it cannot establish compatibility with a heated floor. For an apartment or showroom project in Uzbekistan, resolve the heating proposal before committing to a flooring shipment. The useful question is not whether SPC works with heating in general, but whether the exact combination is documented.
Request written compatibility confirmation for the selected SPC construction, backing, heating system and substrate. Obtain the applicable operating limits and commissioning instructions from the responsible suppliers. Do not transfer another manufacturer’s limits to the product you are buying.
Build one brief for both suppliers
Give the flooring supplier and heating contractor the same drawing. Identify whether the system is water-based or electric, how it is incorporated into the substrate, and which rooms are controlled separately. Include the proposed attached backing or additional underlay. Ask each party to identify missing information rather than accepting two unrelated statements that their individual product is suitable. Keep the actual model identifiers on the brief.
Ask about the complete assembly
Request thermal-resistance information where available and ask the heating designer to assess the complete floor build-up. The referenced Karndean guidance illustrates product-specific controls and compatibility checks; it is not approval for Luvie flooring. Distinguish room air temperature, thermostat setting and the temperature at the flooring interface. Avoid copying a numerical limit into your purchase specification without confirming where it is measured and which product it covers.
Agree the site sequence before delivery
Have the installer document substrate acceptance, heating-system commissioning, the installation environment and the permitted restart procedure. These are responsibilities to settle, not generic instructions that a seller can infer from a country name. For a Tashkent project, for example, identify who will keep the approved records in the language used by the local installation team. Confirm that translated notes retain the original units and qualifications.
Include the occupied-room layout
Show rugs, fixed furniture and other areas where heat can be trapped, then ask the project professionals to assess the layout. Record the approved operation and maintenance instructions in the handover package. Compare quotations only after the scope is aligned: boards, permitted backing, accessories and technical documentation. If compatibility remains unconfirmed, hold the flooring selection rather than treating the shipment deadline as technical approval.
