WPC wall panels in UAE offices: plan the glass-partition junction before ordering

A fluted wall can look complete in a rendering while its last panel conflicts with the glass partition frame. For a UAE office fit-out, the wall-cladding buyer and glazing contractor need an agreed junction before panel lengths and trims are purchased. This is a coordination guide, not a glass-fixing design or an approved sealant specification. The selected partition supplier and project designer must resolve system requirements.

Short answer

Use a shared section drawing showing the finished wall face, partition frame and approved separation detail. Confirm who supplies the edge treatment and who approves any materials touching the glazing system. Keep the partition independent of unverified decorative cladding.

Draw the finished depth, not just the wall line

Request the actual panel profile and the proposed backing arrangement from the wall installer. Put the complete build-up beside the partition frame section, including the most projecting flutes. Check whether the edge meets glass, a metal frame or a separate reveal. A plan showing two lines meeting cannot explain that three-dimensional junction. For a Dubai or Abu Dhabi project, use the site survey and the selected partition system rather than a generic catalogue illustration.

Agree the edge treatment and joint owner

Ask the designer to choose an appropriate termination and movement detail with both installers. Do not let a decorative trim become an unintended structural glass support or assume a rigid filler is acceptable. Record the trim reference, visible finish and responsibility for supply and installation. Required gaps and sealant geometry depend on the selected systems; this guide deliberately gives no universal dimension. Resolve the detail before ordering the last run of panels, especially where a narrow cut would expose an unfinished edge.

Check compatibility before selecting a sealant

Dow’s glazing specification calls attention to joint profiles and compatibility between sealants and materials in contact. That supports a review process, not approval of a particular sealant for Luvie WPC. Give the responsible supplier actual finish and frame samples and identify coatings, gaskets or other adjacent materials where relevant. Ask for the required preparation and compatibility evidence for that application. A successful colour match is not proof of adhesion, and an attractive sample does not establish fire or acoustic performance.

Plan the installation and later access

Agree which trade installs first, how glass and panel finishes are protected, and who accepts the junction before handover. Check that required glazing beads, covers and maintenance access remain usable. Review a representative corner or end detail before completing the room. Keep the accepted drawing, sample and any specialist approval with the procurement record. If the frame position changes on site, recheck panel cuts and accessory quantities rather than forcing the ordered trim into an altered opening.

Frequently asked questions

Can the WPC panel support the glass partition?

Do not assume so. The partition requires its own approved support and fixing design.

Can a matching silicone colour settle the detail?

No. Colour is separate from suitability, adhesion, compatibility and joint geometry.

Next step

Send Luvie the WPC profile reference and the designer’s junction sketch. Coordinate the partition system with its supplier before confirming panel cuts and trim quantities for your UAE project.
